Homemaker Dad
Have you ever wondered why kids are so much work? I mean, shouldn't you want your kids to turn out better than you did? One of the coolest things about raising kids is watching them become imitators of me. My 5 year old boy will come up to me and say something he's heard his Mom and I say to each other and it's hilarious! I often ask the wifey-'How you doin?' You know, like Joey from that sitcom does? My youngest now asks us (mom and dad) the same thing, only he puts his own twist on it. "How yer doon?" The first time I heard him say that I laughed my butt off! And my other two boys pick up things from us, too. My middle boy likes to repeat everything he hears, which keeps Mom and I on our toes! He also likes to make decisions he thinks are his place to make. I suppose he could have picked that up from me, but I won't admit that. The oldest boy loves to hug everyone and tell us he loves us. I will admit that the wifey and I both encourage that. When the boys aren't trying to kill each other, their individual habits are becoming alarmingly similar to el' parentos! And I guess that's a good thing. In a society that promotes all sorts of illicit and questionable standards, kids really provide my wife and I with a good moral measuring stick. They are the ones who determine whether or not we grown-ups are suitable enough to provide them with the stable foundation they require! And we thought we were in control!
